What is the treatment approach for stage 3 or 4 urethral cancer?

In stage 3 or 4 urethral cancer, treatment is more intensive due to deeper invasion or spread to other organs. The approach usually combines surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. Surgery may involve removing part of the urethra, bladder, or surrounding tissues. Chemoradiation is often used to control advanced-stage urethral cancer. In some cases, targeted therapy or immunotherapy may be considered as an option. Treatment is personalized based on tumor location, extent, and overall health, and is best managed by an experienced uro-oncology team.
