What conditions require an Orchiectomy?
Conditions that may require an orchiectomy include testicular cancer, advanced prostate cancer, and severe testicular trauma. It is also done in cases of testicular torsion when blood flow is not restored in time, or due to chronic infections that do not respond to treatment. Hormone-sensitive cancers may require orchiectomy to reduce testosterone levels. Rare conditions like testicular atrophy or benign tumors causing significant discomfort may also necessitate removal. Each condition is assessed carefully before recommending orchiectomy as a treatment option.
