Can chemotherapy cure cancer completely, or is it only for controlling the disease?

Chemotherapy can sometimes cure cancer, especially if it is detected early and is sensitive to treatment. For example, certain blood cancers and testicular cancer often respond very well to chemotherapy, leading to a complete cure. However, in many cases—especially advanced or spread cancers—chemotherapy helps control the disease by slowing its growth, shrinking tumors, and relieving symptoms. It can also be combined with surgery or radiation to improve outcomes. Whether chemo cures or controls cancer depends on the type, stage, and individual response.
